About The Role

Let It Glow Professional Outdoor Lighting is looking for reliable, hardworking Ground Technicians to join our seasonal crew for the upcoming holiday lighting season. In this role, you'll work directly alongside a lead installer to keep jobs moving efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

This is a fast-paced seasonal position with strong potential for overtime and weekend hours during peak installation season. No prior lighting or installation experience is necessary. We provide all the training, tools, and gear you need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Installer Support & Planning:

Work closely as a helper to the lead installer, anticipating needs, preparing materials, and making sure tools and supplies are ready ahead of time.

Ground Installation:

Install holiday lighting from the ground on trees, shrubs, greenery, and low architectural elements.

Ladder Assistance & Setup: Safely set up, move, and support extension ladders (up to 17 ft.) for the lead installer, and perform ground-level and ladder-assisted lighting work.

Job Site Prep & Cleanup:

Transport materials around job sites, organize crew gear, and maintain a safe, tidy work area.

Teamwork & Safety: Follow all company safety procedures and maintain high standards of quality on every property.

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Start Time: 9:00 AM daily at our Shelby Township location.

  • End Time: Work wraps up when the day's scheduled jobs are complete.

  • Days: Variable schedule with no set day off during peak season.

    • Weekend work and overtime are expected based on job volume.

  • Weather-Dependent: We work as long as outdoor conditions allow, always putting crew safety first.

  • Holiday Shutdown: Full company shutdown from approximately December 10th through January 2nd, resuming in January for post-season takedowns.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Reliability: Reliable personal transportation to and from our Shelby Township base (minimal use of personal vehicles on the job).

  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.

  • Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work comfortably on extension ladders (up to 17 ft.), and spend extended hours outdoors on your feet.

  • Weather Readiness: Comfortable working outdoors in late-autumn and Michigan winter conditions.

  • Professionalism: Arrive on time, sober, and ready to work with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

  • No Experience Necessary: Complete training is provided.
